Current
Overall due diligence
Moderate
Enhanced due diligence required
Records show a serving state assemblyperson (PEP by office) with a long electoral history and one unresolved police-statement episode, while corporate, financial and court-registry coverage is entirely absent, so enhanced checks are warranted.
Electoral resilience
Medium
Won Mentakab in 2018 (majority 5,829) and again in 2022 with a smaller majority of 3,657, after losing five earlier state and parliamentary contests from 1986 to 2004.
Political continuity
Stable
Records show continuous DAP candidacies from 1986 through 2022, within DAP/GR, DAP/BA and DAP/PH banners; no party switch is documented.
Integrity signal
Review
Records show a police call for a statement over a protest against rising prices, with no charge or case outcome reported; no graft allegations, charges or convictions appear.
Financial / corporate
Open
No company-registry, GLC, foundation, asset-declaration, credit or tax records are provided; the public record here covers elections and two reported statements only.
How much due-diligence attention each area needs — not a finding of wrongdoing.
Serving state assemblyperson for Mentakab, which is a PEP role by virtue of office, not of any wrongdoing.
Records document a four-decade DAP candidacy record and joint statements with six other Pahang DAP assemblypersons, but no other relationships.
No record of any procurement, tender, contract or state-agency dealing involving the person.
No director, shareholder, GLC or foundation roles appear in the records.
No court or case records are provided; the police statement episode has no reported charge or outcome.
A police call for a statement over a protest is recorded, with no charge, finding or outcome reported.
No asset declaration, income or credit information is included in the records.
Coverage is limited to two single-source Malaysiakini reports, one concerning a police statement and one a policy position on Lynas.
The supplied record is largely limited to official election results for one Pahang state seat and earlier unsuccessful state and parliamentary contests, plus two single-source Malaysiakini reports. It shows a long-standing DAP representative who has held Mentakab since 2018, was reported to have been called for a police statement over a protest with no charge recorded, and joined colleagues in opposing a Lynas licence extension. No corporate, financial, procurement or court-registry information is available, so those areas remain open and the absence of adverse records is not evidence of a clean record. Enhanced due diligence on corporate interests, declared assets and the police matter is the reasonable next step.
Public-record review · allegations ≠ findings · a charge is not a conviction · every point links to its source record (E official results, R reviewed records, N collected reports). Prepared by AI from the records on this page; not an analyst finding, and it can be wrong.
Specific pledges this politician made, and what credible reporting since says happened. The status is assessed by AI from the linked reports — each quoted passage is checked against its source. “Unclear” means no credible report of the outcome was found yet, not that the promise was broken.

Malaysiakini reported that Mentakab assemblyperson Woo Chee Wan was called by police to give a statement at the Temerloh district police headquarters over a flash mob protest against rising prices held on 2 July.
“Dalam satu kenyataan, Ahmad Nizam Hamid daripada PKR Temerloh berkata bahawa dia bersama Woo dan seorang lagi aktivis politik Rosli Ismail telah hadir ke Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah Temerloh bagi memberikan keterangan berkaitan bantahan kenaikan harga barang.”
Malaysiakini reported that Woo Chee Wan and six other Pahang DAP assemblypersons issued a joint statement expressing disappointment at the cabinet's six-month extension of Lynas's operating licence and calling on the cabinet to stop renewing the licence.
“"We are of the opinion that the cabinet should listen to the views of the Anti-Lynas Movement. "Even though Malaysia is constrained by the Basel Convention and Lynas did not comply with the agreement of transporting the radioactive residue abroad in 2012, what Malaysia can and should do is, at the very least, stop renewing Lynas Corp’s operating license," they said.”
Malaysiakini reported that Woo Chee Wan was one of seven Pahang DAP state assemblypersons, holding the Mentakab seat.
“The seven were Lee Chin Chen (Bilut), Young Syefura Othman (Ketari), Kamache Doray Rajoo (Sabai), Chow Yu Hui (Tras), Chiong Yoke Kong (Tanah Rata), Woo Chee Wan (Mentakab) and Leong Yu Man (Triang).”
