Current
Overall due diligence
High
Enhanced due diligence required
Senior federal office-holder (MP) gives high PEP exposure, and most due-diligence dimensions (corporate, financial, litigation, regulatory) are not covered by the records.
Electoral resilience
High
Won P186 Sandakan in both GE13 and GE14; majority grew sharply from 1,088 votes to 10,098 votes between the two contests. The 2022 result is not in the records.
Political continuity
Elevated
Records show a party switch from BERJAYA (1990) to DAP by 2013, contesting under PR (2013) and then PH (2018).
Integrity signal
Clear
The records contain no allegations, charges, convictions or regulatory findings; this reflects the limited scope of the records rather than an exhaustive check.
Financial / corporate
Open
No company-registry, asset, credit or financial disclosures are in the records; corporate and financial transparency cannot be assessed from the file.
How much due-diligence attention each area needs — not a finding of wrongdoing.
Sitting federal MP for a parliamentary constituency with a large 2018 majority; PEP exposure flows from the office itself.
Long-running MP status in a Sabah seat and a documented change of party from BERJAYA to DAP; specific networks beyond party labels are not in the records.
No procurement, contract or official-act records are in the file.
No company, directorship, or GLC appointment records are in the file.
No civil or criminal court records are in the file.
No regulatory, MACC or criminal findings are in the file.
No asset, income or financial-disclosure records are in the file.
No media-monitoring or reputation records are in the file.
The file establishes Stephen Wong Tien Fatt as a long-serving DAP MP for P186 Sandakan, first in 2013 with a narrow majority and then re-elected in 2018 with a substantially larger one; an earlier 1990 loss in Sabah under BERJAYA documents a party switch over time. No allegations, charges, convictions, or corporate roles appear in the records, so the integrity dimension is clear only on this limited file. Most other due-diligence dimensions (corporate, financial, litigation, regulatory, procurement) are open and require verification against SSM, court, MACC and parliamentary records before any broader conclusion can be drawn.
