Overall due diligence
Insufficient evidence
The records contain only two official 1980s Johor state election results; there is no reporting on office, conduct, or any other matter, so an assessment cannot be supported.
Electoral resilience
Open
Records cover only two Johor state elections (1982 Skudai; 1986 Tambatan); margins and any subsequent contests are not on file.
Political continuity
Open
Both recorded wins are under UMNO/BN, but later party or coalition affiliation is not documented in the records.
Integrity signal
Open
No integrity, criminal, or disciplinary reporting is in the records; absence of records is not evidence of a clean record.
Financial / corporate
Open
No company-registry, asset, or credit data on file; no GLC or director roles are documented.
How much due-diligence attention each area needs — not a finding of wrongdoing.
A Johor state assembly seat implies past PEP exposure, but the records do not confirm tenure dates, so exposure cannot be sized.
No reporting on alliances, faction ties, or associations is in the records.
No procurement, contract, or government-project reporting is on file.
No company or GLC role is documented in the records.
No civil or criminal court matter is on file.
No MACC, police, or regulator action is on file.
No asset declarations, beneficial-ownership, or financial reporting is on file.
No media, reputational, or civil-society reporting is on file.
The records establish only that Mahmood bin Daud won two Johor state seats for UMNO/BN, Skudai in 1982 and Tambatan in 1986, with no later electoral or biographical data on file. Integrity, corporate, financial and litigation checks are not covered by these records, so those areas remain open and cannot be assessed. Any further view will require pulling primary sources (SPR, SSM, courts, MACC, hansard) before a conclusion is possible.
