Overall due diligence
Insufficient evidence
The records contain only two official election results and no other reporting; the file is too thin to support a substantive rating.
Electoral resilience
Medium
Won P103 Puchong once (GE11) with a large majority and lost it once (GE12); only two contests are on record.
Political continuity
Stable
Both recorded contests were under GERAKAN/BN with no coalition change; one term served before defeat.
Integrity signal
Open
No allegations, charges or court matters appear in the records; absence is not evidence of a clean record.
Financial / corporate
Open
No company-registry, asset, credit or SSM checks in the records.
How much due-diligence attention each area needs — not a finding of wrongdoing.
Records show one parliamentary term (2004-2008) and no current documented office.
No documented networks beyond GERAKAN/BN candidacy in two records.
No procurement, contract or government-project reporting in the records.
No company, GLC or foundation roles on record.
No litigation, charges or court outcomes appear in the records.
No MACC, regulatory or criminal findings documented.
No asset declarations, beneficial-ownership or financial-disclosure reporting.
No media or reputational reporting beyond the election results themselves.
The public file on Lau Yeng Peng is limited to two official SPR records: a comfortable win in P103 Puchong in 2004 under GERAKAN/BN (majority 11,882) and a loss in the same seat in 2008. No other reporting on his corporate, legal, regulatory or financial background is included, so areas outside electoral results are marked open and the overall rating is insufficient. Enhanced due diligence is not flagged on the basis of these records alone; the next steps set out concrete Malaysian official sources that would fill the gaps.
