Overall due diligence
Moderate
Enhanced due diligence required
Records show a senior office-holder (Selangor Menteri Besar and PKR vice-president) with no legal or integrity matter recorded against him, but corporate, asset and court-registry coverage is entirely absent, so enhanced checks are warranted.
Electoral resilience
High
Five consecutive wins 2008-2023 in Batu Caves, Sungai Tua and Gombak, with majorities ranging from 3,261 to 12,729.
Political continuity
Elevated
Every win was under PKR with PR then PH. October 2026 reporting describes a Selangor government cooperation agreement with Bersatu Selangor awaiting signature, which he said was unaffected by the reported cancellation of PN's registration.
Integrity signal
Clear
No allegation, charge or case against him appears in the records; matters he addressed concern state policy and other individuals. Court-registry and MACC checks are not included.
Financial / corporate
Open
No SSM, GLC, foundation, asset-declaration or credit records are included; only state-level policy statements about industry and import licensing.
How much due-diligence attention each area needs — not a finding of wrongdoing.
Menteri Besar of Selangor and a PKR vice-president, both senior political offices.
Lead figure in the state government and reported to be negotiating a Bersatu cooperation deal giving more than two-thirds assembly support.
As Menteri Besar he oversees state approvals such as live-pig import licensing and industry programmes, though no licence or contract papers are in the records.
No company, GLC or foundation roles are documented in the records.
No court matters involving him are recorded; no court-registry search is included.
No charge, conviction or regulatory finding against him appears in the records.
No asset declaration, disclosure or financial statement records are included.
Frequent coverage as Menteri Besar, including sensitive religious-enforcement and import-licence issues, much of it from single outlets.
The records establish a long electoral track record of five consecutive wins from 2008 to 2023 and identify him as Selangor Menteri Besar and a PKR vice-president, giving high PEP exposure purely from office. No allegation, charge or conviction against him appears in the records, and the reported matters he addressed concern state policy or other individuals. Beyond election results and October 2026 press reporting, coverage is thin: corporate roles, asset disclosure, litigation and regulatory checks are all open, and much of the reporting is single-source. Enhanced due diligence should target company-registry, court-registry, procurement and asset-declaration records rather than rest on the absence of adverse reporting.
